UnipolSai Assicurazioni is back by Banco Alimentare’s side for the 27th National Food Collection Day.

The National Food Collection Day promoted by Fondazione Banco Alimentare returns on Saturday 18 November, when it will be possible to purchase non-perishable food to donate to people in difficulty thanks to the help of local partner organisations affiliated with the 21 Banco Alimentare locations.

At over 11,000 supermarkets across Italy, more than 140,000 Banco Alimentare volunteers wearing orange vests will invite shoppers to purchase long-life products such as oil, canned vegetables or legumes, tomato pulp and purees, canned tuna or meat and baby food.

All of the food donated will then be distributed by close to 7,600 local partner organisations affiliated with Banco Alimentare (soup kitchens, family homes, communities for minors, outreach centres, street units, etc.) which support around 1,7 million people.

For the first time, Benedetta Parodi is the face of Food Collection Day.

Food Collection Day is the event with which Fondazione Banco Alimentare joins in the World Day of the Poor 2023 established by Pope Francis.

It will also be possible to donate groceries online using dedicated platforms: to find out how to purchase products and which brands are participating in the initiative, please visit the website www.colletta.bancoalimentare.it.
