The world’s most famous international sailing competition is back: on Thursday 29 August the curtain will officially go up on the 37th America’s Cup in the waters of Barcelona with the start of the first match races involving various yacht clubs including Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli, which will be supported by Unipol in its role as Official Sponsor.

The competition kicks off with the Louis Vuitton Cup, which will determine the team that will officially challenge New Zealand, current holders of the America’s Cup. The five challengers - Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli (ITA), INEOS Britannia (GBR), Alinghi Red Bull Racing (SUI), NYYC American Magic (USA) and Orient Express Racing (FRA) - will go head to head in a double Round Robin stage (in which Defender New Zealand will also compete). The top four teams will qualify for the semi-finals, based on a best of nine race format, and the two winners will then battle it out for the Louis Vuitton Cup from 26 September to 5 October, in this case over the best of thirteen races.
The final act is the America’s Cup itself, which will begin on 12 October.

On every day of this exhilarating challenge, the Luna Rossa team will be able to count on the proud and passionate support of Unipol, with the brand also featuring on the sail and the official team clothing. To mark the event, Unipol has also developed corporate communications specifically dedicated to its partnership with Luna Rossa for different media channels: 
> a TV commercial to appear on Sky and Mediaset during live coverage of the races;
> a press feature in the main national newspapers on 22 August to mark the official start of the event;
> a major branded content project: “Opening New Waves Together”. This original Unipol video series, which will appear exclusively on the company’s corporate social media channels from the Round Robin phase onwards, offers an original insight into the Luna Rossa team, capturing the passion, the dedication, the endeavour and the values it shares with Unipol as it continuously plots new courses.
