“Nel nostro cielo un rombo di tuono”, the docufilm on Gigi Riva

The first docufilm with Gigi Riva, “Nel nostro cielo un rombo di tuono”, directed by Riccardo Milani and produced by Wildside, Vision Distribution, in collaboration with Sky and with the support of Unipol Gruppo among others, hits the big screen on 7 November.

For the first time Gigi Riva, the greatest player in the history of Cagliari Calcio football club, inspiration for their Serie A championship triumph of 1969-70 and the Italian national team’s highest ever scorer, who chose Sardinia as his second home, has agreed to take part in a docufilm that looks back at his life. 

Rombo di Tuono is not your average story. It is the story of Gigi Riva. A man who got people on their feet. In this project there are no actors playing him. There are no narrators to tell his story. It is just him, his tales, his truth, his Sardinian friends, his teammates the season Cagliari won the title, the year that Cagliari were stronger than all the other giants of Serie A, the people of Sardinia that have always reciprocated his affection and loyalty.
