Picasso lo straniero
The Picasso lo straniero (Picasso the foreigner) exhibition presents over 80 of the artist’s works in addition to documents, photographs, letters and videos from the Musée National Pablo Picasso and the Musée National de l’Histoire de l’Immigration of Paris. Born in Malaga, Spain in 1881, Pablo Picasso moved to Paris in 1904. Although France would become his home and his fame would spread beyond the national borders, the artist never acquired French citizenship. This exhibition examines Picasso’s aesthetic and political trajectory to understand how the difficult life of an immigrant shaped his identity and how being a foreigner impacted on him and made him the artist and the man he became.
Unipol Group is Main Sponsor of this important exhibition which will be held in Palazzo Reale in Milan from 20 September to 2 February 2025.
