Van Gogh. The man and the land
The Unipol Group is main sponsor of the exhibition “Van Gogh. The man and the land” which was held in Milan at Palazzo Reale from October 2014 to March 2015. The exhibition, which brought the works of the Dutch genius to Italy, wished to anticipate and relate to the theme of Expo 2015, aiming to “become one of the main cultural events of the year”, as emphasised by Unipol Chairman Pierluigi Stefanini at the press conference for the presentation of the exhibition held on 16 May 2014 at Palazzo Reale.
“Culture is crucial in order to emerge from the crisis. Cultural awareness should be promoted to help citizens react and build new perspectives,” stated the chairman, highlighting the positive impact of cultural events also in terms of business and economic stimulation, recalling Unipol’s commitment to the sector.
“Van Gogh. The man and the land” displayed 47 works by the Dutch master, including certain masterpieces such as the ‘Self-portrait’ and ‘Landscape with wheat sheaves and rising moon’ and was visited by over 300 thousand people, one of the most popular exhibitions held in Italy that year.
Support for the exhibition demonstrated once again the closeness of the Unipol Group to the artistic and cultural heritage of the country and to the initiatives promoted to make masterpieces available to the general public.
